About this piece

A two-piece set — top and bottom cut from the same cloth, sized together and meant to be worn as a pair or split up. The thinking behind it is simple: get the size right, get the surface right, and leave everything else alone. Nothing here is decorative for its own sake. It comes in 1 colour.

Fabric and feel

Knitted rather than woven, so the surface has a fine, even grain and the fabric moves in both directions. That two-way give is what lets a knitted piece sit close to the body without pulling across the chest, and it is why the seams stay flat instead of standing up along the shoulder. A mid-weight knit with a soft, dry hand and enough body to hold its shape through a day of wear. It stretches with you rather than against you, and it returns to shape when you take it off — which is the difference between a knit that still looks tidy in month three and one that has gone slack at the elbows.

Cut and fit

The seams are flat-felled or bound rather than overlocked and left raw, so there is nothing to catch and nothing to fray out of the wash. Hems are re-turned twice before stitching, and the shoulder seam carries a strip of tape so it does not stretch out of line on a hanger. It is graded S/M/L, and the flat measurements for every size are in the chart below.

Why it is sold as a set

Two matching pieces in the same fabric and the same size run, so the set works together and each half works on its own. Pockets, plackets and waistbands are the parts that decide whether a garment gets worn, so they are treated as structure rather than as decoration.

Wearing it together or apart

The care instructions are short on purpose. Wash it the way you would wash anything you intend to keep, dry it flat or on a line, and it will hold the shape it arrived in. If you are between two sizes, go by the hip and chest rows rather than the letter — those are the two that decide how the garment actually falls. Care

Machine wash cold on a delicate cycle and dry flat in the shade. Do not hang a wet knit — the weight is what stretches shoulders out of line. Do not tumble dry and do not iron directly; steam from the reverse if it needs refreshing between washes.
