Fabric and feel

A mid-weight knit with a soft, dry hand and enough body to hold its shape through a day of wear. Cut and fit

Pattern pieces are cut to a consistent grain, which is why the two sides hang the same way instead of one twisting forward. Fastenings are load-bearing: the buttons, zip or drawcord are the ones the design actually needs, not the cheapest that would hold the shape on a shelf. It is graded S/M/L/XL, and the flat measurements for every size are in the chart below.

Getting the collar right

A button-up shirt with a clean front and a collar that holds its shape when worn open as well as buttoned. Detailed where it needs to be and plain where it does not. The shape is kept quiet so it works with what you already own rather than only with the rest of one collection. The finishing is what you notice after a month rather than in the first minute: nothing scratchy where the cloth meets skin, and no trim that starts to look tired before the fabric does.

Measurements by size

Measured flat, in centimetres, with the garment laid out and not stretched. Chest, waist and hip are half-circumference: double them to compare with a body measurement.

Allow 1-2 cm of tolerance, since the garments are cut and sewn by hand rather than stamped. If your measurement lands between two sizes, take the larger one - our fits are not vanity sized.

Care

Wash cool with similar colours and reshape while damp. Skip the fabric softener, which coats the fibre and flattens the surface rather than softening it, and keep it away from velcro and zips in the drum.
